Desian Education are proud to be supporting a mainstream primary school in Runcorn that is easily accessible via public transport as they require a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a year 2 class. This is a full-time long-term opportunity that will last the remainder of the academic year where you will support a pupil that has been subject to previous trauma.
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be working in collaboration with the year 2 class teacher to promote the attainment, attendance and emotional development of a new pupil within the school. The pupil you will be supporting has unfortunately been subject to significant trauma in their early life and as such presents complex behavioural needs and challenges. To promote their engagement and attendance you will be their main point of contact throughout the day, following them through the school as they have previously absconded by:
- Integrating into new pupil groups
Requirements:
- A minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting children and young people within the last 2 years (classroom or residential experience is essential)
- An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
