Desian Education are proud to be supporting a single-form entry primary school in Runcorn that is at the heart of its local community as they require an experienced and Level 2 qualified teaching assistant to support the reception class on a full-time temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced EYFS team within a school that is held in high regard across the local authority. Subject to funding this position will be extended into the new academic year.

Your new role

Within this school you will be working in collaboration with the reception class teacher to promote the engagement, learning and development of all pupils by building strong constructive relationships and utilising an array of learning resources. You will lead on phonics using the RWI scheme, holding small group and 1:1 interventions to ensure that all pupils reach their developmental milestones which will aid in the KS1 transition. As well as leading on phonics and communication you will also support a number of pupils with SEN within this class, all of whom are high functioning but require comprehensive tailored support throughout the school day.

What you need to succeed

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • Be at least NVQ Level 2 Early Years or equivalent qualified
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
  • A minimum of 40-days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
  • An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
