Company: Desert Engineering are the leading distributor and installer of pressurised ventilation systems and reversible cooling fans on heavy plant and agricultural machinery across the UK. Headquartered in Daventry, Northamptonshire, Desert offer system installation and maintenance across the UK. Trading since 2012, Desert Engineering are an established business with a strong reputation in the heavy plant industry. Desert is part of the BMair International group with HQ in The Netherlands.

Role: The primary function of the role is the installation and maintenance of Pressurised Ventilation Systems (PVS) on heavy plant and agricultural machinery.

  • Attending machinery dealers to install PVS systems on new and used equipment.
  • Attending customer sites including quarry, port, waste recycling and agricultural to install, service and maintain PVS systems.
  • Identifying potential installation or service issues and solutions.
  • Carrying out inspections and checks on own work as it proceeds and ensuring that the equipment performs satisfactorily and safely before handing back to the customer.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out correctly and to the highest standards.
  • Accurate reporting of new installation information and root causes of service issues via the company app.

Candidate:

  • Experience at dealer or 3rd party system installer beneficial.
  • Familiarity with heavy plant and/or agricultural machinery.
  • Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Willing to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home where required.
  • Personable, professional, reliable and presentable.
  • Able to interact with customers in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
  • Any relevant technical qualifications and experience considered.
  • Regular early starts due to travelling time to customer sites.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.

Remuneration & Benefits:

  • 50 hour standard working week (7.00 – 17.00).
  • Overtime payable outside standard hours @ x1.5 Monday – Saturday and x2 Sundays where required.
  • 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Company van, phone, tablet, uniform etc provided.
  • Regular team events including company BBQ, Christmas party etc.
