As the Product Owner for Financial Risk Solutions, you are responsible for shaping and delivering innovative product solutions in Trade Finance, Foreign Exchange (FX) and Derivative products. You will be the voice of our customer: driving high standards, innovation, and continuous improvement to create brilliant experiences and outcomes across our products and services.

Through analysis and detailed assessments, you will consistently check that our products meet the evolving needs of our customers/target markets, our own business goals, and continued adherence to our legislative and regulatory commitments. You will champion a customer-centric approach, using customer insights, market intelligence, and data-driven decision-making to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement in the customer journey.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; build strong partnerships across the organisation and its partners; and foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap across the products. This will entail leading the end-to-end transformation agenda for these products: simplifying processes, modernising platforms, and introducing digital capabilities that improve service, efficiency, and customer outcomes.

This is a new role within the Financial Risk Solutions team. It is a specialist area within Business Banking supporting businesses to manage the financial risks associated with their borrowing and international trade.

For this job, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Glasgow, Edinburgh, or London office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that, there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. Alternatively, you'll be located at our Edinburgh hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events, this is expected to be once per quarter in Edinburgh. What you’ll be doing includes:

  • Taking end-to-end ownership of the products offered by the Financial Risk Solutions team, ensuring they continue to deliver value for our business customers through ongoing evaluation, enhancement, and innovation.
  • Using customer feedback, market insight, and performance data to identify opportunities to improve products, solve challenges, and optimise processes.
  • Communicating product performance and benefits clearly while working closely with stakeholders across Front Office, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance to drive change initiatives.
  • Championing the voice of the customer, helping to deliver outstanding experiences and continuous improvement across our products and services.

About you: As a minimum, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in Product Leadership and Transformation within Financial Services
  • Strong understanding of Trade Finance, FX, and Derivatives, including the market/industry, competitors, regulation/legislative environment, and future developments and technologies
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data related to product performance
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience of working with cross-functional teams, including analysts and designers, to deliver change
