The Videographer is responsible for producing high-quality video content that engages, informs, and inspires prospective students and stakeholders. This role involves both filming and post-production, transforming creative briefs and raw footage into compelling visual stories aligned with brand guidelines. Working closely with content producers, marketing teams (UK and India), and motion graphics designers, the Videographer will deliver a wide range of video outputs including student testimonials, campaign videos, educational content, and event coverage. All content must reflect high production standards and support the organisation’s student recruitment and brand-building objectives.
What the role involves
- Video Production
- Film high-quality video content for marketing campaigns, student recruitment initiatives, and brand storytelling.
- Capture footage across campuses, including classrooms, interviews, and events.
- Produce a variety of formats such as student testimonials, course and programme promotion videos, social media content, event highlights, internal communications.
- Plan and organise shoots, including equipment setup, lighting, and audio capture.
- Conduct basic location scouting and assess filming environments.
- Edit raw footage into engaging, brand-aligned video content.
- Produce both short-form and long-form videos for multiple digital platforms.
- Apply colour correction and basic grading for visual consistency.
- Synchronise and enhance audio, ensuring clarity and professional quality.
- Export videos in appropriate formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios for various platforms.
- Motion Graphics, Animation and Still Photography
- Create simple motion graphics to enhance video content.
- Design and animate titles and intro/outro sequences, lower thirds and captions, animated text and logo animations, infographics and visual overlays.
- Capture still photography during video shoots when required.
- Produce images suitable for marketing, social media, and website use.
- Edit and optimise photography assets for digital distribution.
- Content Creation for Digital Channels
- Support the marketing team in producing video-first content for social media platforms including paid ads.
- Adapt video formats to suit different platform requirements (vertical, square, landscape).
- Assist in identifying opportunities for short-form content and creative storytelling.
- Event Coverage
- Film key GBS events including open days, graduation ceremonies, guest lectures, campus activities and other marketing events.
- Produce highlight videos and recap content for promotional use.
- Work efficiently in live environments to capture authentic moments.
- Equipment Management
- Operate and maintain cameras, lenses, lighting, and audio equipment.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and upkeep of all equipment.
About You
- Degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Production, Videography, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Substantial demonstrable experience in video production, videography, or content creation roles.
- Candidates must provide a portfolio or showreel demonstrating the following: filming and camera work, video editing and storytelling, social media content, motion graphics/animation (if available), event or interview-based content.
Technical Proficiency
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition.
- Experience with Premiere Pro Teams Project.
- Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom (desirable).
- Understanding of video compression and optimisation for digital platforms.
- Experience using DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema cameras.
- Solid understanding of composition and framing, lighting techniques, audio recording, camera movement and stabilisation.
- Experience with equipment such as tripods and gimbals, Lavalier and shotgun microphones, basic lighting setups.
