As a Senior Change Manager in the People Change team, you’ll lead the delivery of People Integration Change across the Chief Operating Office (COO), directly supporting the delivery of the blueprint. The projects will require effort and expertise from multiple teams within the COO, the People Function, Finance and wider Society to deliver effectively. In this role, you will lead the delivery of people change activity throughout the full change lifecycle, working with your matrix team. You’ll ensure that change is effectively and sensitively delivered at the required pace and standards, implemented in a considered and controlled manner, fully realising the benefits and outcomes of change. We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best. Working hours can be between 28 and 35 hours per week. This is a 12‑month secondment opportunity.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will lead change across a portfolio of people‑focused, strategic and business‑led initiatives.
  • You will use strategic and people change expertise, a strong network of relationships and influence to deliver and shape outcomes for this portfolio.
  • Responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of the agreed deliverables across impacted teams.
  • Identify, validate, measure and report the outcomes and benefits of change.
  • Work closely with Workforce Planning and Finance to align plans and reporting across multiple forums.
  • Develop and lead matrix teams, partnering with senior management to ensure projects are resourced effectively and delivered to standards.
  • Support the business to understand the changes required to transition successfully, including risk management.
  • Act as an ambassador for people change, championing the customer both internally and externally.
  • Manage a team of business change colleagues and workstream teams, providing mentoring and guidance.
  • Own your personal development plan and seek best‑in‑class skills to support the role.

About you

  • Track record of leading and delivering complex, large‑scale business, operational and people change activity and associated benefits.
  • Proven expertise in applying project and business change management principles and methodologies.
  • Confidence in dealing with ambiguity, agility to adapt to changing priorities, and focus on problem‑solving while balancing risk and reward.
  • Excellent change and people leadership skills across matrix‑managed teams.
  • Broad network, excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident communicator who can build, maintain and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience in the financial services environment, mentoring and role modelling for a change community.
  • Strong understanding of Nationwide’s strategy and how change can improve customer experience, reduce costs and increase simplicity.
  • Experience leading and implementing business change projects using agile, waterfall and Nationwide governance tools such as Jira and Confluence.
