Join our busy and high-performing Payment Operations team, where you’ll lead colleagues responsible for supporting customer payment journeys, including payments processing, disputes and customer enquiries. You’ll ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements and service standards, helping to deliver great outcomes for our customers.

As a people leader, you’ll coach, develop and support your team to build capability, drive performance and create a positive, customer-focused culture. Working closely with stakeholders and strategic partners, you’ll manage day-to-day operations, balance resources, identify improvements and support change initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

We're looking for a strong and inspiring leader who can build effective relationships, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and work across Operations to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and members. You'll be a team player who supports, challenges and shares best practice with colleagues, helping to create a high-performing, inclusive culture where people can thrive.

A key part of the role is developing and empowering your team through coaching, mentoring and regular feedback, while maintaining effective oversight of performance, capability and risk. You'll ensure colleagues are supported to develop the skills and knowledge they need, in line with the business area's training and competency framework, enabling the delivery of consistent, fair and customer-focused outcomes.

We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.

This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
