Step into an exciting opportunity as a Manager Risk Control and Partnering within our Group Retail Products team. This is a fantastic chance for an experienced risk professional to play a key role in delivering good customer outcomes, supporting regulatory and policy changes, and helping the business achieve its strategic objectives.
Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will provide first-line conduct and regulatory risk expertise while building strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. You will support a significant customer data migration programme, ensuring a smooth transition between systems while maintaining product integrity, regulatory compliance and robust conduct risk management.
With your strong knowledge of savings and current account products, you will act as a trusted subject matter expert, offering practical and commercially focused risk advice. Success in this role will come from your ability to navigate complexity, think critically, influence stakeholders at all levels and deliver solutions with confidence and credibility.
We're looking for someone with recent practitioner-level experience within savings and current accounts in a first line risk environment, who combines deep product knowledge with excellent communication skills. You will be proactive, self-motivated and collaborative, with a logical and inquisitive mindset that enables you to identify risks, challenge constructively and drive positive outcomes for both the business and its customers.

Join Group Retail Products and play a pivotal role in helping the Society achieve its strategic objectives while maintaining a strong and effective risk environment. Working closely with business and change teams, you will ensure risks arising from a varied integration agenda are identified, understood and appropriately managed.
You will provide expert risk and regulatory product guidance, support project discussions, and help maintain an accurate and robust risk profile across key initiatives. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with stakeholders across Customer Resolutions and Retail Services, delivering valuable conduct, operational and regulatory risk insight that enables informed decision making and supports the Society's ambitions.
You will oversee risk and control profiles, contribute to project forums and committees, monitor regulatory and legislative developments, and work with risk owners to ensure effective controls and mitigation strategies remain in place. You will also have the opportunity to deputise for the Head of Risk, representing the function at senior committees and forums, leading meetings, contributing to key projects, and providing coaching and guidance to colleagues.
About you: We’re looking for a self-motivated, highly organised and proactive risk professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and can confidently build relationships across a broad stakeholder network. As a minimum, you'll have:
- Recent practitioner-level experience within savings and current accounts, working in a first-line risk environment
- Strong expertise in conduct and regulatory risk management, with the ability to interpret and apply risk policies and regulatory requirements effectively
- Proven experience as a risk management subject matter expert, providing accurate, pragmatic and commercially focused risk advice
- Experience supporting product governance, customer outcomes and change initiatives, ideally including data migrations or complex transformation programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and engage effectively with colleagues and senior leaders at all levels
- A logical, inquisitive and analytical mindset, with the ability to cut through complexity, challenge constructively and identify practical solutions
- A track record of demonstrating sound judgement, decisiveness and strong time management skills, delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
