We are looking for a Branch Manager to lead our branch in Newport, Shropshire. This is a 12‑month secondment opportunity, full‑time (35 hours per week, Monday to Saturday). Applicants must be within a 45‑minute commute of the branch.

Job Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring the customer experience on the high street is the best possible. You will lead a team, manage day‑to‑day operations, maintain high standards of customer service, and implement the branch business plan.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and manage a high level of customer expectations.
  • Train, coach and develop branch staff to achieve the branch’s objectives.
  • Use the bank’s systems and processes effectively and support colleagues in doing the same.
  • Monitor branch performance, identify opportunities for improvement and increase profitability.
  • Deliver on branch metrics, including FCA standards and key performance indicators.
  • Work within a busy retail environment, organising tasks and prioritising to meet customer needs.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Have experience managing people in a retail environment.
  • Demonstrate a commercial understanding, knowledge of financial regulations and processes.
  • Show resilience, versatility and flexibility to prioritise and respond to changing demands.
  • Be able to give your best work in a full‑time role with a 45‑minute commute.
  • Experience as a branch manager in a retail setting is desirable, not essential.
