About the Role
The Accounts Payable Assistant Manager will manage the payment processes, to ensure the efficiency of the payments function with prompt, accurate and timely payments of suppliers and other payments and to reconcile management accounts on time. You will also manage and develop the team by ensuring processing are accurate with zero tolerance for errors.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure supplier payment terms are aligned and set accurately in Unit4, with our standard payment terms
- Run weekly payment runs
- Manage and monitor invoices in the system and resolve queries with suppliers
- Ensure effective controls developed and maintained around accounts payable process
- Process journals and maintain supporting documentation as an audit trail
- Ensure Bank reconciliations are completed in a timely manner
- Provide excellent services to internal and external stakeholders
- Support with bringing new entities on board by testing all AP tasks are set up correctly on Unit4
- Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled monthly
- Perform top 100 supplier statement reconciliations monthly
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrable accounts payable experience, with supervisory or managerial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and accounting standards (e.g., accruals, prepayments, VAT handling)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Unit 4, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamic etc)
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliation work) and high level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with financial controls and audit requirements
- Experience building strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Managerial experience in Accounts Payable function at group level
- Accounting professional qualifications beneficial but not required
- Use of accounting software (Unit4)
