As an Operations Manager – Process Automation, you’ll play a pivotal role in how we consistently improve colleague and customer experiences across Business Banking. As part of a small team, you’ll focus on embedding The Standard through strong leadership, high‑quality thinking, and continuous process improvement.
The Operations Manager – Process Automation will design, implement, and govern automated solutions that optimise Business Banking processes. This role focuses on leveraging Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and SharePoint to deliver efficient workflows, enhance customer experience, and simplify colleague interactions. The position also supports the Senior Manager and deputises when required, ensuring continuity and leadership in automation initiatives.
This role sits within Business Direct, supporting colleagues across Business Direct and the wider Business Banking teams to deliver consistently great customer outcomes. The team exists to improve manual processes through the use of Microsoft Power Platform.
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

What you’ll be doing
You will proactively design, implement, and maintain SharePoint sites and lists to support core business processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with organisational needs. A key part of the role involves driving continuous improvement by promoting best practices across the team and enhancing adoption of digital tools. You will oversee the development and management of Power Automate flows to support activities such as updating SharePoint data, issuing reminders, generating automated Management Information (MI), and facilitating customer communications. In addition, you will build intuitive Power Apps to enable seamless data entry and streamlined process updates, improving the overall user experience.
Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, you will analyse and enhance business processes, ensuring solutions are practical and add measurable value. You will allocate resources effectively and coordinate project delivery to meet business objectives, timelines, and quality standards, while managing multiple initiatives concurrently. The role also requires robust governance and compliance oversight, including managing SharePoint permissions, flow amendments, and risk mitigation. You will monitor and resolve failed flows to maintain operational continuity and lead strategic automation projects across Business Banking, reporting on progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management.
