Canon Europa Nottingham is a busy service and refurbishment centre with customers located across Europe. The logistics specialist provides a key role in handling and managing goods and tooling both inbound and outbound supporting the activities of our Canon semiconductor service centre in Nottingham.
The role requires the management of goods inbound and outbound, preparing documentation, managing shipment arrangements, control of processes and compliance with relevant regulations. Interaction with colleagues, customers and shipping/customs agents directly is essential in the job therefore good communication, a positive outlook and flexible approach are required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare shipment documentation, proforma’s, invoices, product values and packing lists.
- Arranging shipments and goods to end users and other Canon locations and/or returns to Nottingham.
- Ensure the correct application of incoterms and HSC codes for shipments controlling applicable duties, taxes and carrier charges.
- Work with internal systems (R-Kan/S-Kan/BPECS/PEPLS/SharePoint) maintaining databases as part of processing shipments and supporting other roles.
- Closely monitor issues (delays/damages/theft) with carriers installing clear countermeasures to reduce impacts on field service and customer machine uptimes.
- Accountable for tracking and monitoring inbound shipments to the office creating visibility for other roles.
- Accountable for the timely stocking of goods in the warehouse in appropriate or assigned locations.
- Monitor shipments with mindfulness of the creation of counter action plans in case of issues.
- Independently plan, book and monitor transport in line with business requirements/agreements.
- Arrange and prepare collections/returns for service tools/RMA’s working with carriers/customs brokers ensuring timely transits.
- Provide reports, information or data to relevant internal stakeholders ensuring correct business operation and compliance as appropriate.
