Descrial is an AI work-execution platform purpose-built for alternative investment firms and their portfolio companies and securely orchestrates proprietary data, external sources, and workflows. Descrial is an important pillar of Enterprise Intelligence Orchestration (EIO) and enables it by structuring and standardizing data while embedding domain expertise, thereby enabling faster and contextual analysis, broader coverage, and more intelligent decision-making. It is backed by TresVista's 1,800+ employees and deep domain expertise across investment diligence, research, valuation, fund administration, accounting, and data analytics. The team is small, senior, high-ownership, and in-office, with direct access to the Executive Committee.
OVERVIEW
As Product Designer & UX Researcher, you will combine hands-on product design with ownership of the research practice for a platform whose users are some of the most time-poor, expertise-dense professionals anywhere: investment analysts, associates, and partners. You will build the evidence base that product decisions rest on and design from it: discovery and usability work through to flows, prototypes, and shipped interfaces, at a weekly release cadence. You would be our first research hire, working inside the design team: our users are hard to reach, their data is confidential, and access runs through client relationships, so getting to them reliably is a discipline in itself.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research practice
- Plan and run qualitative and quantitative studies: discovery interviews, contextual inquiry with investment teams, usability testing, and instrumented behavioural analysis
- Build the research operations backbone: participant access through client relationships, consent and data handling for confidential financial contexts, and a searchable insight repository
- Establish lightweight, repeatable methods that fit a fast release rhythm β evidence in days, not quarters
Design and delivery
- Turn findings into designed solutions: user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI built on our design system
- Design and evaluate AI-assisted workflows for user trust, verification behaviour, and failure-mode tolerance, contributing golden examples and failure taxonomies to AI evaluation sets
- Partner with product and engineering from problem framing to release, arguing for prioritised, traceable decisions where trade-offs happen
WHO YOU ARE
Prerequisites
- 5+ years in product design and user research for software products, with a portfolio showing both studies that changed decisions and interfaces you designed and shipped
- Strong command of qualitative methods, working command of quantitative analysis, and fluency in Figma and rapid prototyping
- Experience designing and researching for expert or professional users - finance, legal, medical, or comparable high-expertise domains
- Excellent synthesis, visual, and communication skills: work that is read, believed, and acted on
Good to have
- Financial-services or investment-workflow exposure, including data-dense interfaces
- Experience designing and researching AI-assisted or automation products, including trust and verification behaviour
- Experience working within or contributing to a design system
- Research-ops experience in confidential or regulated data environments
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
