A respected electrical contractor delivering high-quality electrical installation, design and maintenance services across the commercial, industrial and retail sectors. Due to sustained growth, we are seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our pre-construction team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator or a developing Junior Electrical Estimator looking to step up with full support and training.
Role Overview
You will support the tendering, costing and pricing of electrical projects up to £5M, working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing tender documents, drawings, specifications and schedules
- Producing detailed electrical take-offs (manual or using Bluebeam)
- Preparing and issuing subcontractor enquiry packages
- Analysing and comparing supplier/subcontractor quotations
- Raising RFIs and resolving technical or commercial queries
- Compiling clear and accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
- Maintaining pricing databases and project records
- Supporting Directors and Management with pre-construction tasks
- Working collaboratively with clients, suppliers and internal teams
Requirements
Experienced Electrical Estimator:
- Background in electrical estimating within contracting
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, drawings and installations
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
- Excellent numeracy, communication and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail
Junior Electrical Estimator (Considered):
- Strong numerical ability and interest in electrical estimating
- Good IT skills (Excel, Word, database use)
- Ability to interpret drawings or willingness to learn
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive attitude and eagerness to progress
