Health and Safety Manager £35,000 - £50,000 + Package Construction

A well-established Building Services Contractor is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join their team, covering projects across the Commercial and Industrial sectors in the Midlands.

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for driving health, safety and compliance standards across live construction sites, working closely with Site and Contracts Managers to ensure all works are carried out safely and in line with current legislation.

The successful Health and Safety Manager will

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits across multiple live construction sites.
  • Develop, implement and monitor Health & Safety policies, procedures and RAMS in line with current legislation and company standards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing reports and implementing corrective actions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and training to site staff and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with Site/Contracts Managers, subcontractors and clients to promote a strong safety culture across all projects.
  • Keep up to date with changes in Health & Safety legislation and ensure ongoing compliance across the business.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training and certifications.

Health and Safety Manager Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager, Health and Safety Advisor, or SHEQ Manager within the construction industry (essential).
  • M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) sector experience advantageous.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential); NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ Diploma desirable.
  • NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health & Safety desirable.
  • CSCS/CCNSG card.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence safety culture across site teams and subcontractors.
