Derwen College is an award-winning specialist further education college, supporting young people with educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to learn vital life and work skills. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team on a part-time basis. As Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in supporting students with a wide range of needs, helping them to thrive both emotionally and socially during their time at College. You will provide high quality psychological input, working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals to create safe, supportive, and inclusive environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality psychological input to support students with a wide range of needs.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and external professionals to create safe, supportive, and inclusive environments.
- Engage with the multidisciplinary team to support emotional and social development.
Person Specification / Qualifications
- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology.
- Registered as Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC.
- Eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status (BPS).
- A comprehensive knowledge of the full range of psychological needs of adults with a learning disability, their presentation, assessment and treatments.
- Evidence of continuing professional development of self and others.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects.
- Outstanding communication skills with individuals/staff at all levels.
- Highly motivated individual.
- Advanced IT and computer skills.
- Knowledge of quality improvement/audit with associated experience/skills in their practical application.
