Our client is looking for a motivated Operative to join their team in Barnoldswick. This is a permanent position with the potential for a temp-to-perm arrangement for the right candidate. The role requires reliability, flexibility for holiday/sickness cover, and a valid FLT forklift licence.

  • Contract: Permanent, with potential for temp-to-perm conversion

  • Working Hours:
  • Earlies: 06:00-14:30 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 to 13:30 Friday
  • Lates: 12:30-21:00 Monday to Thursday and 12:30 to 20:00 Friday

Responsibilities:

The Floor Walker (Warehouse Operative) is part of the operational team, which has responsibility for movement and storage of goods to and from the site factories and warehouses. This role will require the collecting and delivering parts and products from within the manufacturing facility to ensure goods are ready to transport to other manufacturing units within the site and external suppliers. As directed by the site management (PLCs and Controller), the floor walker will ensure that all goods are secured ready for transport to the correct location safely.

Main areas of focus and accountability of the role:

  • Load/unload vehicles and transport materials throughout the plant.
  • Manual movement of parts within the facility.
  • Pick goods as directed.
  • Prepare goods for shipping/transport.
  • Cover for colleagues at both sites as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid FLT forklift licence is required.
  • Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work fixed day shifts as specified.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to occasional changes for cover.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
