We Live and Love Travel.... Do you?
Role: Destination Expert
Fully Remote | Indian Ocean, Europe, Caribbean & Far East | Travel Sales
Turn your passion for travel into unforgettable holidays.
If you know how to bring a destination to life, understand what makes a truly exceptional holiday and love the buzz of turning an enquiry into a booking, this could be the role for you.
At Kuoni, we're looking for experienced travel sales professionals to join our remote Expert Hub as Destination Experts, specialising across the Indian Ocean & Arabia, Europe, Caribbean and Far East. Both full and part time hours available.
You'll use your destination knowledge, sales expertise and natural ability to connect with people to create incredible, tailor-made holidays. Depending on your experience and area of expertise, you could be supporting our Direct customers, Travel Trade partners, or a combination of both.
This is a fully remote role, working within a fast-paced contact centre environment, so you'll need to be comfortable working independently while still being very much part of a supportive, connected team.
Our next start date for successful candidates will be 4th January 2027 – this is when our next virtual training begins.
To apply, please provide your CV and covering letter. We aim to respond within 7 days.
What you'll be doing
No two enquiries will be the same. You'll get to know what your customer is looking for and create a holiday that's right for them, using your expertise to add those extra touches that make all the difference.
You'll:
- Create inspiring and sometimes complex holiday itineraries across your specialist destinations
- Listen to customers, understand what matters to them and recommend the right holiday and experiences
- Use your destination and product knowledge to add genuine value to every conversation
- Work confidently towards individual sales and service targets
- Build relationships that encourage customers to return to Kuoni time and again
- Confidently close sales and identify opportunities to enhance each booking
- Create engaging proposals and confirmations that help bring holidays to life
- Work across different customer channels with speed, accuracy and efficiency
- Continually develop your destination and product knowledge
- Keep up to date with what's happening across the travel market and our competitors
- Work closely with colleagues across Kuoni to deliver an exceptional customer experience
What we're looking for
Previous travel sales experience is essential - please note applications without this experience will not be considered.
You'll already understand the art of selling travel and know that the best sales conversations don't feel scripted. They're about listening, asking the right questions and using your expertise to create something the customer is excited to book.
Contact centre experience would be a real advantage, but it isn't essential. What's more important is your ability to thrive in a busy sales environment and deliver outstanding service from home.
You'll also bring:
- A genuine passion for travel and strong destination knowledge, ideally across the following areas: Indian Ocean & Arabia, Europe, Caribbean and Far East
- A proven ability to sell and work towards sales and service targets
- Confidence building rapport and starting conversations naturally
- The motivation and discipline to perform effectively in a fully remote environment
- Resilience and the ability to perform under pressure
- Creative problem-solving skills and the confidence to overcome objections and close a sale
- Strong decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to retain and recall detailed destination and product information
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build great relationships with colleagues
- Flexibility to work in line with our contact centre opening hours, which includes, evening weekend and public holidays
- Knowledge of travel systems including TravelBox, Smartpoint, DMS or Compass would be advantageous, as would previous experience working remotely.
Working hours
As our customers need us seven days a week, our Expert Hub is open:
- Monday to Friday: 9am–8pm
- Saturday: 9am–6pm
- Sunday: 11am–4pm
You'll work on a rota across these opening hours, typically including one late shift until 8pm each week.
For weekend working, our usual rota aims to provide one full weekend off, with three additional weekend days worked across the rota period, which could be either a Saturday or Sunday.
We aim to maintain this working pattern wherever possible, although some flexibility is important as shifts and weekend working may vary depending on business and customer needs.
