To support our vision for the future and achieve our ambitious strategic goals, we are looking for a Trade Marketing Manager to join our team.

The core responsibility will be to manage the trade marketing and trade press activity. The successful candidate will have experience within a similar role, taking ownership and delivery of compelling, cross-channel marketing campaigns, including those for trade audiences and a firm understanding of the B2B marketing mix and distribution channels in the travel industry. The role will be based in Dorking (hybrid), with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week. The role also allows flexi hours to suit, offering 8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm or 10am - 6pm.

The Role

The Trade Marketing Manager's core responsibility is to manage the trade marketing and trade press activity. Reporting to the Senior Brand and Acquisition Manager and working closely with the Head of Trade Partnerships and wider trade team, this role manages trade marketing activity including campaign delivery, trade press advertising and PR as well as key account marketing, including partner stores. This key role supports our ambitious efforts in developing our trade strategy.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Trade Marketing Planning and Implementation: Working with Head of Trade Partnerships, develop and implement a trade marketing plan that delivers a credible and market-leading presence which will support the trade team’s growth objectives.
  • Trade Campaign Delivery: Accountable for ensuring all support material for use in B2B and B2C trade marketing is created and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Trade Press Relationship Management: Responsible for all trade press liaison both editorial and paid, building strong relationships with all key trade and industry bodies to raise the profile of Kuoni amongst the travel trade press.
  • Trade PR: Responsible for delivering trade PR including writing press releases to support key business and trade initiatives, identifying opportunities for news stories and planning a programme of pro-active opportunities to gain positive coverage within the trade press.
  • Manage entry process for trade awards nominations: Alongside the Head of Trade Partnerships and ensure coverage across all related marketing channels.
  • Trade Database and Email Marketing: Work with CRM Manager to ensure trade database is up to date and to understand data to drive engagement.
  • Trade Marketing Planning: Create and manage a trade marketing calendar for use by the trade account team to track and monitor activity.
  • Trade Team Liaison: Represent marketing in key trade meetings, ensuring the trade team is aware of upcoming plans, activity and news from marketing.
  • Trade Team Support: Support trade team with implementation of agent partner marketing; providing guidance on effective briefs for internal Studio and Content teams or external agencies.
  • Brand Guardianship: Ensure the trade team have a thorough understanding of brand guidelines and are well equipped in supporting travel agents to adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Trade Website / Trade Portal: Ensure agent areas of the website are up-to-date and collaborate with broader trade and digital teams on the creation of the online marketing portal.
  • Trade Brochures: Management of the brochure process for travel agents, including forecasting usage quantities, liaising with a 3rd party to arrange storage and delivery of brochures to travel agents.
  • Performance Analysis: Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using insights to guide future marketing strategies.
  • Competitor Analysis: Continuously monitor the competitive landscape to stay informed on industry trends, competitor campaigns, and trade initiatives.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in ownership and delivery of compelling, cross-channel marketing campaigns, including those for trade audiences.
  • Firm understanding of the B2B marketing mix and distribution channels in the travel industry.
  • Strong understanding of brand management and the ability to maintain brand integrity across all marketing efforts.
  • Strong analytical skills to measure campaign effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in project management, with a history of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder management.

Desirable:

  • CIM or IDM qualifications.
  • Background in trade marketing within the travel or retail sectors, preferably with premium or luxury brands.
