We are looking for an experienced Retail Travel Manager to join our brand new store in John Lewis Nottingham (due to open in the next few months). Both full and part time applications will be considered (minimum of 4 days a week). This is a 6-12 month fixed term contract, however could lead to a permanent role.
For our teams to be successful, they need inspiring leaders with strong travel sales experience to lead the way.
As a Store Manager you will be accountable for meeting and exceeding retail sales targets and be responsible for the development of fully trained, informative and highly motivated Travel Experts who deliver exceptional service and revenue. You will also be fully responsible for the store\’s business development in aim to increase and nurture the already established customer database (Full job specification available upon request).

Our Kuoni Store Managers are hands on and support our Personal Travel Experts every step of the way. We are looking for confident & competitive natural conversation starters that can bring their personality to work to motivate their teams to success!
Essential:
- Experience of managing a retail travel store, with profit and staff responsibility
- Strong track record of delivering sales results and exceptional service
- Attention to detail: you will be responsible for your teams booking checks; ensuring all elements of a customers holiday is not only priced correctly but eliminating any errors that might impact the customer when overseas
- You will be a proactive, confident and forward thinking individual, with excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to motivate, enthuse and lead a team; thrives during periods of pressure and high volume of work and able to create an upbeat, motivating sales environment
- A genuine passion for travel with considerable first-hand experience and knowledge of destinations that Kuoni sells
- Knowledge and experience dealing with third party suppliers
- Fully Flexible: our stores are open 7 days a week with a various shifts patterns . This position is full time therefore will work 5 days a week, including weekends. The store is open Monday – Saturday 9am – 6pm and Sundays 11am – 5pm.
Desirable:
- Good all round understanding of the sales and commercial aspects of tour operating, including scheduled flying
- Excellent working knowledge of at least one travel agent or tour operators reservations system
