Streetscape Groundsperson/Gravediggers (Cemeteries) in Londonderry

Responsible for the delivery of a customer focused and diverse range of day to day operational duties in all weather conditions, carried out in accordance with Health and Safety obligations and standard operating procedures and to provide Streetscape Services in all areas within the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.

Responsibilities

• Undertake grounds maintenance and grave digging duties, in a professional manner using creativity and expertise where required to specified standards in accordance with planned operational procedures.
• Drive, operate and maintain allocated vehicles, heavy plant and ancillary equipment including the loading/unloading of same in consideration of prevailing weather conditions.
• Operate, maintain, store and secure all heavy plant, machinery equipment and/or tools in accordance with standard operating procedures and Health and Safety obligations for self, work colleagues and the public.
• Undertake duties and deliver the services(s) including risk assessment(s) and maintain chemical records, in compliance with COSHH, (Pesticide Applications) standard operating procedures and Health and Safety obligations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Applicants must possess a minimum of a valid and current: B Licence And A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a commercial/agricultural or public sector operational service.
• This experience must include all of the following: Operating motorised grass cutting machinery or tractor with ancillary attachments/equipment, Shrub and/or tree maintenance and Record keeping.
• Knowledge and application of Health and Safety at Work.
• It is desirable that applicants possess one of the following: Certification of competence in the safe use of Pesticides Application, Modules PA1, PA6A and PA2A, A valid and current C1plus E and or C Licence, Experience in the use of Digger Operations
