We are a registered NVQ Assessment Centre and deliver a first‑class in‑house apprenticeship. The apprenticeship is a development program. Candidates need a keen interest in engineering and a love of material processing.

The apprenticeship consists of learning full competence in the following disciplines:

  • Health and Safety in machine shop environment
  • Quality – Reading, understanding, and interpreting geometric tolerances and inspecting to customer specific technical drawings
  • Understanding and marking out materials
  • Work holding of material for safety and accuracy
  • Bench fitting – Hand skills for working material
  • Machining using Mills, Lathes, Surface and Cylindrical Grinders, CNC machines
  • Programming CNC machines
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Person Specification:

  • 5 GCSEs Grade A–C, including Maths. English and ICT also preferable
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of personal organisation
  • Keen interest in engineering
