As the VP of Compliance at Deriv, you will be based in our brand new office in Shoreditch, London. This office is the central hub for our Compliance operations, offering a dynamic and stimulating environment for your professional growth.

Your challenges and mission
- Guide compliance excellence. You’ll be the heartbeat of our regulatory framework, ensuring that Deriv Group and its subsidiaries navigate the intricate landscape of compliance. Your mission is to provide comprehensive guidance, fostering a deep understanding of applicable legislation across the organisation. It’s about aligning our operations with regulatory standards and minimising legal risks so every Deriv entity operates seamlessly within the law.
- Navigate regulatory changes. In a world where regulations are ever-evolving, you’ll be our vigilant sentinel. Your forte will be monitoring new and proposed changes in standards, legislation, and regulatory notifications. By promptly updating internal policies and procedures, you’ll ensure that Deriv stays ahead of the compliance curve, mitigating risks and maintaining our operational integrity.
- Mitigate compliance risks. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and assessing potential compliance risks. Strategising effective mitigation measures and sharing detailed risk reports will enable us to proactively address regulatory challenges and safeguard Deriv’s reputation.
- Create a collaborative compliance framework. Collaboration is key. You’ll work closely with Deriv Group’s Head of Compliance and our global Compliance teams to foster an aligned and holistic compliance framework. This synergy will strengthen our global compliance efforts, ensuring consistency and a unified approach across the board.
- Engage with regulatory authorities. Be the face of Deriv in your interactions with regulatory authorities and industry standards organisations. Building strong relationships and fostering effective communication will be essential in maintaining a cooperative approach to compliance.
- Perform strategic monitoring and planning. Your strategic vision will guide the development and implementation of monitoring strategies, audits, reviews, and action plans. By creating and revising the annual compliance work plan, you’ll ensure our practices align efficiently with evolving regulatory requirements, propelling our compliance efforts to new heights.
Requirements
- University degree in finance, law, risk management, banking, financial services, payments, or another relevant field
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in a compliance role, with a proven track record of working with global teams
- Deep understanding of corporate governance, anti-money laundering (AML), investment and/or payment services regulations, crypto asset regulatory frameworks, and other relevant legislation
- Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies, fostering strong relationships, and ensuring effective communication
- Solid understanding of legal requirements and controls, ensuring robust compliance across the organisation
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify potential compliance risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment, navigating the complexities of a global organisation
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
