About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps + Generative AI Engineer with strong experience in the UK Banking/Financial Services domain. This role focuses on building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, enabling robust CI/CD pipelines, and supporting AI/ML and Generative AI solutions for enterprise banking clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for microservices built with Python and Java
  • Deploy, manage, and scale applications on AWS EKS (Kubernetes) clusters
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across AWS environments (Dev, Test, Production)
  • Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, including: VPC, EC2, EKS, EMR
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support banking and financial applications
  • Handle ad-hoc DevOps tasks, automation, and system enhancements
  • Enable and support AI/ML & Generative AI workloads, including: Scaling and performance optimization, Integration with cloud-native services

Required Skills (Mandatory)

  • Strong experience in DevOps practices and CI/CD (GitLab preferred)
  • Hands-on expertise in AWS services (EKS, EC2, VPC, EMR)
  • Proficiency in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Experience with Docker & Kubernetes
  • Programming knowledge in Python and/or Java
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • ✅ Mandatory: Hands-on experience in AI/ML (including Generative AI / LLMs)
  • Experience in MLOps / ML pipeline deployment in cloud environments

Domain Requirement (Mandatory)

  • Experience working with UK Banking / Financial Services clients such as Barclays, HSBC, NatWest Group or similar
  • Strong understanding of: Regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCA guidelines), Risk, compliance, and secure data handling

Good to Have

  • Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and cloud security best practices
