What is a Volunteer Stock/Donation Sorter?
Our Volunteer Stock/Donation Sorters playa crucial role in supporting the charitys goals by helping to manage and organise donated items.
This role ensures that donations are sorted, categorised, and prepared foor sale, contributing to the smooth running of the day to day operation of our Chorley store.
We are looking for committed volunteers whohave an eye for detail and who enjoy organising.
What\’s involved?
- Sorting Donations: Inspect and sort incoming donations, including clothing, household items, toys, books, and other goods.
- Categorising Items: Organise donations by type, quality, and condition, ensuring items are sorted according to established guidelines.
- Quality Control: Assess the condition of donations, selecting items suitable for sale and setting aside any that are damaged or unsuitable.
- Preparation for Display/Sale: Prepare items for display in the shop,including steaming, wipig down, labeling, and pricing where necessary.
- Maintaining Work Areas: Keep the sorting areas clean, organised, and safe, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
