You’ll help gather prizes for our raffles and fundraising events - from vouchers and treats to experiences and gifts that bring a smile to our families’ faces. Working on an ad hoc basis, you’ll help collect prizes from businesses across the North West and beyond. You’ll work with the team to decide which businesses to approach and, where possible, collect donated items.
Every prize you help secure makes a real difference - your efforts will raise vital funds for the hospice and support magical moments for seriously ill children and their families.

Time commitment:
This is a flexible, ad hoc volunteer role, which means you can fit it around your schedule. How much time you give will depend on the events happening and the prizes that need collecting; some weeks you may be more involved, other weeks less.
Training & Support:
- Induction training: A short introduction to the hospice, our values, and how your role helps support what we do.
- Awareness of our services: Basic knowledge about what we do so you feel comfortable talking to different size businesses/organisations and answering simple questions.
- Fundraising & event guidance: Information on how to represent us in your communications.
- Communication tips: Friendly guidance on how to approach people, start conversations, and share our story with confidence.
- Ongoing support: You’ll always have a named contact from the team.
Expenses:
We’ll cover agreed travel costs if you have your own car and are able to collect some prizes. You’ll just need business insurance, an MOT, and a clean driving licence. Please note, having a car is not essential, just desirable.
Please note:
- The minimum age for volunteering in this role is 18 years.
- We ask all applicants to disclose, in confidence, any unspent criminal convictions in advance of a DBS check.
- All volunteers are required to wear a uniform, which will be provided free of charge.
