Love your local community? Want to make a real difference for children and families? Join our Fundraising Team as a Raffle Prize Volunteer! You will help gather prizes for our raffles and fundraising events - from vouchers and treats to experiences and gifts that bring a smile to our families' faces. Working on an ad hoc basis, you will help collect prizes from businesses across the North West and beyond. You will work with the team to decide which businesses to approach and, where possible, collect donated items. Every prize you help secure makes a real difference – your efforts will raise vital funds for the hospice and support magical moments for seriously ill children and their families.
What we are looking for:
- Friendly, confident, and approachable
- Reliable, trustworthy, and organised
- Comfortable communicating with a range of businesses
What’s in it for you?
- Rewarding – see how your efforts directly support our families
- Make a real difference to our babies, children, young people and their families
- Meet new people and build connections
- Flexible and ad hoc (Mon – Fri) fit it around your commitments
- Boost your confidence and communication skills
Time commitment: This is a flexible, ad hoc volunteer role, which means you can fit it around your schedule. How much time you give will depend on the events happening and the prizes that need collecting; some weeks you may be more involved, other weeks less.
Training & Support:
- Induction training – A short introduction to the hospice, our values, and how your role helps support what we do.
- Awareness of our services – Basic knowledge about what we do so you feel comfortable talking to different sized businesses/organisations and answering simple questions.
- Fundraising & event guidance – Information on how to represent us in your communications.
- Communication tips – Friendly guidance on how to approach people, start conversations, and share our story with confidence.
- Ongoing support – You will always have a named contact from the team.
Expenses: We will cover agreed travel costs if you have your own car and are able to collect some prizes. You will just need business insurance, an MOT, and a clean driving licence. Please note, having a car is not essential, just desirable.
Please note: The minimum age for volunteering in this role is 18 years. We ask all applicants to disclose, in confidence, any unspent criminal convictions in advance of a DBS check. All volunteers are required to wear a uniform, which will be provided free of charge.
