Assistant Buyer Location: Surfacing & Civil Engineering Contract: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Derek Lewis Ltd is looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to join our Surfacing & Civil Engineering team. This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day purchasing and operational requirements of the departments. The successful candidate will work closely with our Buyer, operational teams, Accounts Department and external suppliers, helping to ensure purchasing and hired plant are effectively controlled and accurately recorded. Liaise with the Accounts Department regarding purchase invoices that do not match existing purchase orders. Investigate purchasing and invoice discrepancies, escalating issues to the Management Team where appropriate. Support the Buyer with general purchasing and procurement administration. Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier and plant-hire records. Is competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook. Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, construction, civil engineering, plant hire or a similar administrative role would be advantageous.
