Starting at Common Farm, our rewilding site in Nether Heage, you’ll coordinate the development of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust's first Community Rewilding Hub. We're looking for someone who can bring people together around a shared purpose and turn bold ideas into practical action. Part community organiser, part innovator and part facilitator, you’ll be comfortable building partnerships, securing support and creating the conditions for others to thrive.

You’ll work alongside local people, partners and funders to co-design activities, test inclusive governance approaches and create meaningful opportunities for people to shape priorities and play an active role in nature recovery. Your work will help transform Common Farm into a thriving hub for nature, learning, wellbeing, green skills and community opportunity. In doing so, you’ll help create a model that can inspire and support similar hubs across Derbyshire, creating stronger connections between people, place and nature.

What we can offer you:

  • Flexible working options, we have adopted a 9‑day working fortnight meaning all full‑time staff get a non‑working Friday every fortnight.
  • 33 days annual leave including bank holidays, we also have a festive shutdown so all staff get the days between Christmas and New Year off in addition to their leave entitlement.
  • Climate Perks (extra leave granted for staff using more green, sustainable transport).
  • 9.5% employer pension contribution.
  • Electric bike and car salary‑sacrifice schemes available.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Life Assurance Scheme.
  • Personalised Development programme designed to enhance your knowledge and progress your career.
  • A multi‑disciplinary business, with opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, developing your experience and skills.
  • A close‑knit, friendly and supportive team, with a relaxed office atmosphere.

About you:

This role might be right for you if:

  • You enjoy bringing people together and helping ideas become reality.
  • You have experience in community development, grassroots organising, participatory engagement, place‑based projects or social innovation.
  • You are naturally curious and enjoy finding creative solutions to challenges.
  • You can build partnerships and take projects from concept through to delivery.
  • You are confident working with local communities, volunteers, funders, businesses and public sector partners.
  • You are motivated by fairness, inclusion and community empowerment.
  • You are excited by connecting people with nature in ways that improve wellbeing, skills and opportunity.

What You’ll Bring:

We’re particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

  • Strong relationship‑building and partnership skills.
  • Experience developing and delivering community‑focused projects involving multiple partners.
  • An innovative mindset, coupled with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • Fundraising, bid‑writing or income‑generation experience.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • A practical and creative approach to problem‑solving.
  • Commitment to inclusion, equity and community‑led approaches.
  • Interest in nature recovery, rewilding, green skills or environmental justice.
