We are looking to recruit a highly experienced Catering Team Member to join our team on a part‑time basis of 26.5 hours per week. The role is at Cafe @ the Royal, located within the main entrance at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. You will work 4 shifts per week, Monday to Sunday, between 6am and 8pm, and carry out duties as set out in the job description.
Key benefits of the role include free onsite parking for Grade A staff, a NEST pension with matching contributions from DSFS (5% or 8%), and a 40% shift premium for hours worked after 8pm and before 6am Monday to Friday and for hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. Interview date to be agreed.
Main duties of the job:
- Provide exceptional customer service and serve guests in a friendly and approachable manner.
- Assist chefs with food preparation and stock rotation in restaurant areas.
- Work effectively as part of a small team under fast‑paced conditions.
- Follow instructions, keep calm under pressure and ensure full compliance with food safety requirements.
Person specification:
Qualifications:- Level 2 food hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- GCSE level education or equivalent, including maths and English.
- Good knowledge of food safety.
- Experience with food allergies, special diets and labelling.
- Experience in a similar position with peaks and troughs in demand during service times.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Professional approach with awareness of diverse customers.
- Ability to work without constant supervision and meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills.
