Are you a strong storyteller with an interest in people? Do you care about the services your local council delivers to improve the lives of its residents? We are recruiting on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months. You will be joining a collaborative, creative and impactful communications team. The position includes supporting our service areas to deliver engaging campaigns that support the Council Plan, coordinating content across multiple channels including digital and press. Working closely with our senior leaders, this is a hands‑on role that blends creativity with a wide range of communication channels to deliver effective campaigns to engage the public, colleagues and stakeholders with the work of Derbyshire County Council.
Responsibilities
- Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and coordinate content across varied channels.
- Be passionate about telling the stories of our residents and colleagues.
- Have great digital skills, confident with recording and editing video, audio and photography or have an interest in digital communications with a desire to grow skills across digital media.
- Be adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in an evolving environment.
- Understand basic design principles and be comfortable supporting colleagues to shape and optimise digital first creative assets.
- Show initiative and a practical approach to problem‑solving and campaign execution.
- Possess strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
