Further information: Old Station surgery is a democratic, caring and inclusive practice with teamwork, support and compassion at its core. We take pride in delivering quality care to our patients and have a strong training and personal development ethos. Serving a patient population of approximately 15,000 in a modern purpose-built premises in the heart of Ilkeston, Derbyshire, the surgery has an on-site pharmacy unit and 2 branch surgeries in the neighbouring areas of Cotmanhay and Kirk Hallam.
We are a team of 5 partners and 7 salaried GPs supported by an excellent team of ANPs, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Senior Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician and a well-established administrative team. We are a high QOF achieving Practice. We provide a variety of services from GP led triage clinics (telephone and online) to minor ops, Implanon, Coil fits and joint injections. We use SystmOne, Ardens Templates, Lexacom and Accurx. We are a teaching practice for both Nottingham and Derby University.
The practice is part of Erewash PCN; with clinical pharmacists, care-coordinators and social prescribers in place, and has access to On Day service, evening and weekend hub as well as acute home visiting services via PCN. ACP cover for allocated nursing homes is also in place via the local frailty team. We continually look for new and innovative ways of working and this is an exciting time to be joining us as we enter into early stages of our succession planning.
As a sponsor organisation for Tier 2 visas/Skilled Workers, we welcome applications from candidates who require necessary work permits to work in the Primary Care services.

Current surgeries mainly comprise of 15-minute appointments with 3x 10 minute follow up slots, plus a visit slot in the morning.
We are looking for:
- 4 sessions with pro rata on call commitment
- Both experienced and/or newly qualified doctors who can bring new ideas and innovative approaches to the way we deliver our services. Additional interests are welcome.
- A short induction period will be offered according to experience.
- A GP with vision and enthusiasm who is forward thinking and wishes to become involved in the future development of the practice.
- Ideally these sessions to be worked on Tuesdays and Fridays, although consideration may be given to Thursday and Fridays also.
