Location: Fire Service Headquarters, Ripley

Hours: 37 hours per week. You may occasionally need to work beyond normal office hours. Agile working arrangements can be discussed with the successful candidate.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a Resourcing professional with strong experience leading end-to-end recruitment campaigns, including specialist and hard-to-fill roles. You will be confident advising hiring managers at all levels. You will build effective working relationships, create engaging attraction strategies, and strengthen our employer brand through engaging and inclusive candidate materials. Strong system knowledge and the ability to use recruitment platforms and metrics to improve processes and enhance the candidate experience are essential. The role requires someone who is organised, creative, able to manage competing deadlines, and committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the recruitment process.

About the Role

You will work with the Senior HR Partner to deliver the Service’s Resourcing Strategy, ensuring we attract, select and retain the best talent. You will lead the ongoing development of the Recruitment System and oversee all recruitment across the Service, supporting the full recruitment lifecycle from job design to onboarding. You will manage the HR Assistant and Service Centre Team Leader, ensuring a high quality recruitment and HR support service. The role also includes producing recruitment insights, delivering manager training, and ensuring recruitment processes are inclusive, legally compliant and aligned with DFRS values. You will also attend career and recruitment events, including occasional evenings or weekends. There will be a requirement for some travel for which a pool car will be provided.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Experience leading end-to-end recruitment campaigns, including specialist roles.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment systems, metrics and best practice processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence hiring managers.
  • HR qualification (Level 3/CIPD) or equivalent relevant experience.
