Derbyshire Fire Cadets is an ongoing programme where young people commit to attend one night a week at one of our units during term time. The programme provides young people with an insight into working within a uniformed service. It provides exciting and unique opportunities to develop skills in teamwork and citizenship through undertaking firefighter activities.
Cadets have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications including Duke of Edinburgh awards and First Aid.
The Cadet units run at the following times and locations:
- Shirebrook Fire Station runs on a Monday from 18:30-20:30 hours
- Chesterfield Fire Station runs on a Tuesday from 18:30-20:30 hours
- Ilkeston Fire Station runs on a Wednesday from 18:30-20:30 hours
- Ascot Drive Fire Station runs on a Thursday from 18:30-20:30 hours
