Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working alongside our client in the facilities management sector, in recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Technician for an initial temporary assignment, that will turn permanent after an initial short period. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced facilities professional in the Coventry area.
Your new role
Your role will see you provide facility maintenance, including planned and reactive, across the site. You will undertake various works yourself but also support and oversee contractors carrying out more specialist maintenance services. Other duties of your role include:
- Building maintenance.
- PAT testing.
- Other site tests including legionella, fire alarm, emergency lighting etc.
- Outdoor maintenance including during harsh weather.
- Managing external grounds to ensure the site is well maintained.
- HVAC monitoring and maintenance.
- Recommend new, and develop existing maintenance procedures.
- Management of your own daily workload.
- Produce detailed reports on activities/works.
This role is 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours of work are 8am – 3pm from Monday to Thursday, and 8am to 2pm on Friday.
What you\’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will be an experienced maintenance professional, with experience in a facilities management, handyman or maintenance technician role, or similar. You will have proven experience in providing facilities management support and will also ideally have a background in electrical maintenance (iPAF certified, 17th Edition etc desirable). You will be personable and able to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including contractors. You will have a can-do attitude, and a willingness to support improvements across the site.

In return you will receive an initial hourly rate of £18 per hour, plus the opportunity for the role to become permanent after an initial short assignment.
