Have a Go: On-Call Firefighters

Interested in becoming an On-Call Firefighter?

If you are aged 17 and over, register your interest to attend a Have a Go Session. This session is a great opportunity to learn more about the role, explore the recruitment process, and get hands-on experience with equipment. Please read our Recruitment Information for Wholetime and On-Call Firefighters.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Aged 17 ½ years or over
• Calm in a crisis
• Good team player
• Motivated
• Able to reach the fire station within 5 minutes of being called on-call
• Have permission from your primary employer
• Provide on-call availability for an agreed number of hours per week
• Attend a minimum of 2 ½ hours of training at the station once a week

We regularly run Have a Go sessions. After registering, you will receive an email with a link to view upcoming sessions. Please note, applications are currently only open for on-call firefighter roles. These sessions are specifically for prospective on-call firefighters, not for wholetime roles.
