Transport Manager

Location: Headquarters, Ripley

Salary: Grade H Salary GBP47,181 - GBP52,413 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week. Transport Office opening hours are 08:00 (Mon‑Thu) and 08:30 (Fri). The office must be staffed by the team within normal working hours.

About the Role

The Transport Manager will be part of a small established team, responsible for managing the transport team and supporting the Head of Fleet and Equipment in delivering the transport strategy and service plan.

You must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, be self‑motivated and have excellent people management skills. You will also have a good understanding of administration and audit procedures/systems, contract management, health & safety legislation, and environmental drivers affecting the motor vehicle industry.

Experience of transport fleet management systems, insurance claims and statistical analysis is essential, as is a good level of IT literacy in Microsoft Office packages.

There will be a requirement for some travel for which a pool car will be provided.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Good standard of general education including Maths and English at Grades C or above, or equivalent
  • MS Office packages, including Word, Excel & Teams etc
  • Working with Transport Fleet Management Systems
  • Working with service contracts, including administration, performance reports and quality monitoring
  • Full City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent
  • Current LGV (C) licence
  • Evidence of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) qualification or willingness to pursue it
  • Electric Hybrid Vehicle Level 3 Course or equivalent
