School Overview
Derby Cathedral School is an 11‑19 secondary school which opened in September 2018, established by Derby Diocesan Academy Trust and Derby Cathedral to meet the need for high‑quality secondary places in the Derby area. The school has been over‑subscribed for every year group and currently has over 1200 students across Years 7 to 13, following the opening of the new sixth‑form provision in September 2023.
It is the first Church of England secondary school in the Diocese and moved to its new state‑of‑the‑art building in September 2021, located close to the city centre. The curriculum is broad, balanced and enhanced by strong links with the Cathedral, with character values based on the acronym FAITH.
