Responsibilities
You will provide impartial Drug Expert Witness reports in accordance with Part 19 of the Criminal Procedure Rules, Criminal Practice Directions & Disclosure Rules. The delivery of evidence in a court of law in respect of drug trafficking cases and their subsequent financial investigation.
Qualifications
- Be confirmed in the rank of Constable
- Be a member of a Home Office force or Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or Police Scotland (please note we cannot accept an application to transfer from an officer serving with a non-Home Office police force).
- Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.
- Have a full manual driving licence
- You must have successfully completed a recognised Drug Expert Witness Course.
- Have a deep and extensive knowledge and understanding of the uses, causes and effects of controlled drugs including consumption methods.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of drug terminology, slang and pricing including street, wholesale, and bulk values.
- Show proven experience of and involvement in drug investigations.
- Have a detailed knowledge of current drug trends, cutting agents, packaging, production, importation, and distribution methods.
