As a Derbyshire Constabulary Police Cadet, you’ll be taking the first step towards a long career in policing.

You’ll participate in weekly cadet meetings, social action projects, and local initiatives aimed at raising the profile of young people in the county, providing a real insight into policing.

You will experience different areas of policing such as task force, dog section, road policing unit, and other operational teams. The scheme is also structured to help you attain the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (Bronze and Silver).

You need to be between the ages of 13-18 years old (Academic years 9 to 13 as of September 2025).
