Drive covert forensic excellence across the region. Join the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) as a Covert Forensic Coordinator and shape a high-performing regional Level 2 Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) team. You’ll drive an effective and integrated forensic service, ensuring every opportunity is maximised to strengthen investigations and support successful outcomes of the criminal justice process.
In this role, you’ll also be a source of expert technical expertise, offering advice and guidance to senior leaders and partners across all areas of forensic covert work, helping influence strategic decisions and enhance operational capability. You’ll be driving Level 2 CSI capability by developing and maintaining a regional team and acting as the key link between covert and overt operational activity. Shaping staff development by identifying technical and operational training needs and supporting continuous professional growth. Partnering with senior leaders to spot innovation and improvement opportunities that enhance value for money and deliver organisational efficiencies.
You must:
- Be a qualified and experienced CSI (COP Stage 2 or equivalent)/Crime Scene Manager, and Level 2 CSI with a current CPP W8 licence.
- Be prepared to work flexibly across the region, to ensure the support to the service meets the needs of pre-planned and spontaneous operations.
- Have staff supervision experience with regard for development and welfare.
This role includes Casual Car User, Shift Allowance and Availability Allowance.
