Description
EMSOU is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces. EMSOU focuses on intelligence gathering and the disruption and investigation of serious and organised crime.
We are currently looking to recruit a Business and Finance Assistant on a permanent, full-time basis to provide financial and administrative support to the Business and Finance Manager. You will be responsible for supporting both the Operational Intelligence and Sensitive Intelligence Network.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of devolved budgets, financial estimates, and general financial matters, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded to comply with financial regulations.
- Place orders for goods/services via the Finance System, ensuring delivery where required, including accommodation, travel, and conferences.
- Provide advice and support in resolving sensitive pay queries related to overtime, enhanced pay, unsocial hours, travel, and expenses.
The must haves
- Hold GCSE Grade C or equivalent in mathematics and English Language OR have 12 months experience working to that standard.
- Demonstrate 2 years’ experience in a general clerical/administrative environment requiring tact, judgment, and discretion.
- Experience dealing with financial issues such as budgets, estimates, purchase ordering, and scrutinizing invoices for payment.
