To make this experience even more exceptional, we are looking for an experienced Workshop and Studio Technician to assist the Workshop and Studio Manager in running the workshop and studio making spaces and offering a wide range of making activities for all ages.

The Person

Have great making skills and be able to run public activities independently, with experience of working in a busy workshop or museum environment, and a passion for technical education.

Have a sound knowledge of and practical experience in contemporary making and craft, associated with traditional skills and practices.

Having a positive, proactive attitude is a must, as is a well organised approach and an aptitude for teamwork.

Be committed to empowering our visitors by enabling them to discover new aptitudes and techniques, while ensuring we deliver a safe and enjoyable experience for our workshop and studio members, users, makers, visitors, and audiences.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: S5 SCP £24,303 – £26,661

Contract Type: 2 year fixed term contract

Location: Museum of Making, Silk Mill Lane, Derby DE1 3AF

Employee Benefits: 20 days + bank holidays (pro rata). Flexible working, pension, mileage allowance payable on authorised business travel.
