Derby Museums is looking for a Transformation Advisor(s) to work alongside the Executive Director and leadership teams, to support its long-term resilience.

Building on recommendations made in previous reviews, the Transformation Advisor(s) should work with the Museums’ leadership teams to assess the suitability of current arrangements and support the implementation of changes.

  • Have experience in the museum or cultural and/or charity sector and have a track record of leading change?
  • Understand the complexities regarding the legal and economic relationships between Local Authorities and arms-length bodies and charitable trusts?
  • Have a deep understanding of commercialism and business leadership?
  • Realistic and practical in approach, supportive but also tough and ready to challenge?
  • Resist ‘magical thinking’ and be prepared to ‘tell home truths’?

Value of Contract: up to £35,000 (this excludes VAT, but includes all expenses).

Deadline for submissions: Friday 27th June 2025 at 5pm
