This is a rare opportunity to lead the relocation project of one of the UK’s most significant museum collections. Derby Museums is an independent charity caring for more than 300,000 items on behalf of Derby City Council. The collections include fine and decorative art, archaeology, natural history, science, technology, military history and social history, including internationally important paintings of Joseph Wright of Derby designated by Arts Council England as being of outstanding national significance.
The Role
Lead the planning and delivery of the relocation of these collections into new storage facilities. Work jointly with Derby City Council to oversee complex logistics, develop future-proof storage solutions, manage specialist contractors and multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the collections are protected and accessible for generations to come.

Accomplished Project Manager with experience in museum collections, able to deliver ambitious, high-profile projects with lasting public impact.

- Hours: 37 hours a week
- Salary: £50,000 per annum
- Contract Type: 24-month fixed-term contract
- Benefits: 20 days (pro rata) + bank holidays (pro rata), flexible working, pension scheme, mileage allowance payable on authorised business travel
