We welcome talented professionals to join our teaching and support teams at Derby Grammar School.

Derby Grammar School is looking to appoint a well qualified and passionate Maths Teacher.

Starting in September 2026 you will join our excellent teaching team.

This is a permanent position teaching Maths to pupils in Key stage 3, 4 and 5.

The Maths department offer the Edexcel specifications for both GCSE and A Level Maths and Further Maths.

Our high attainers also study the Level 2 Further Mathematics course at GCSE.

We are looking to appoint a Maths Teacher who is able to teach maths to pupils in KS3, 4 and 5.

We would like to hear from experienced maths teacher who can promote a love of learning and stimulate intellectual curiosity amongst pupils at Derby Grammar School through inspirational teaching and guidance, ensuring each pupil is supported to achieve his or her potential.

Derby Grammar School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

The School is therefore permitted to ask shortlisted applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the Disclosure and Barring Service(“DBS”) filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants, including social media accounts, as part of their application.

Prior to employment commencing, successful applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers.

Successful applicants will also be required to produce evidence of qualifications, identity, and the right to work in the UK.

Two references will be taken up, one of which will be with the most recent employer.

They will also be required to complete our Health Questionnaire.
