This is a 12 month fixed term, full‑time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency.

The School Derby District High School (DHS) is a dynamic school with a highly motivated, supportive and collaborative staff of over 100 people. With the school motto “Diligence, Courage and Strength”, students work towards high standards of academic and social achievement through participation and engagement in the school's inclusive, safe and stimulating learning environments. The young and vibrant staff brings energy and enthusiasm to classrooms and promotes community responsiveness, ensuring the interests of the students can be addressed in the teaching and learning programs. The school is currently part of the Kimberley School’s Project and supports staff to implement a targeted approach to teaching and learning programmes. This includes Daily Reviews and, in the Early Years, Let’s Decode. The school is committed to supporting the development of its staff through a wide range of professional development opportunities, and as such will look for your commitment to engage with this to further develop your teaching practice.

The successful applicant will ideally be a dedicated and motivated educator who has experience working from K‑12, is interested in teaching across many subject areas and has the ability to adapt to new environments quickly. We value teachers who can flexibly move from classroom to classroom when needed during the school day, possess solid organisational and management skills to deal with complex classroom behaviours. Additionally, our ideal Teacher would have strong communication skills and be a team player. They would use their interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and their families and have the empathy, patience and understanding to work with children with highly complex needs, whilst understanding the changing engagement norms that today’s students are seeking at school.

Applicants with experience in Positive Behaviour Interventions and Support (PBIS) are strongly encouraged to apply.
