Derby College Group (DCG) are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher to join our excellent Level 3 Animal Care department at Broomfield Hall. You will deliver high quality, inspirational teaching which encourages learners to reach their full potential, promoting progression on to higher level courses or preparing them for careers working with animals.
The Opportunity
As part of the Animal Care team, you will participate in the resourcing and preparation of the course delivery and assessment, undertake course administration and internal quality assurance. You will be involved in student progress and achievement including setting and reviewing of academic targets with learners and providing pastoral support. As part of the role, you will take an active part in course related trips and visits, recruitment of learners, open days and information evenings and supporting the work experience that learners undertake as part of their course as well as ensuring that all college and awarding body standards are met.
About you
The successful candidate will have proven experience of providing outstanding support for learners and be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to student achievement and quality. You will have a strong background in animal husbandry including the handling, feeding and behaviour of animals with the ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Experience of teaching and delivering City & Guilds Technical certificate in Animal Management at Level 3 is desirable and up-to-date industry CPD and experience is a requirement.
The Benefits
Salary of £29,374 to £44,218 per annum. 49 days holiday (inclusive of 8).
