Derby College Group (DCG) is looking for a proactive and collaborative Management Information Business Partner to join our MIS team at our Ilkeston campus. You will work closely with curriculum and support areas to ensure the accuracy of learner data, support funding compliance, and drive improvements in the quality of management information across the organisation.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking someone who can combine data accuracy with strong interpersonal skills. You will act as the key MIS link for specific curriculum areas, building strong relationships and offering expert guidance on ILR requirements, funding rules, planned hours, and data quality. You’ll be supporting wider colleagues in understanding performance data, dashboards, enrolment processes, and audit expectations. You will be working collaboratively across the college, supporting other Business Partners during peak periods to ensure consistent service within the MIS function. Helping drive forward improvements by identifying issues, proposing solutions, and confidently advising colleagues at all levels. Contribute to training, process improvements, and the overall development of MIS systems and reporting tools.
About you
You will be a highly organised and confident professional, able to support and guide others while coordinating workloads to ensure high-quality outcomes are delivered on time. With a strong background in planning, managing, and monitoring management information, you combine understanding data with the ability to turn priorities into clear, practical actions. Your excellent communication skills will help you work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, acting as a trusted specialist in data and information management. You will provide day-to-day guidance to MIS Assistant(s), helping them develop and prioritise tasks. A high level of IT literacy is essential, particularly using Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
