Derby College Group (DCG) have an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Support Assistant to join the Engineering department, working predominantly at the Rolls Royce Learning and Development Centre.
The Opportunity
This is a valuable supporting role that involves working closely with engineering staff to assist in the delivery of practical, hands-on learning activities. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring sessions run smoothly by preparing equipment, supporting students during tasks, and helping to maintain a safe and engaging workshop environment. The position provides a unique insight into the teaching and learning process within an engineering setting, making it an ideal opportunity for someone considering a future career in education. About you
You will be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to student achievement. A good understanding of practical tasks within an engineering workshop is required, including using lathes and milling machines; along with a desire to enhance students' practical skills and support curriculum staff with their teaching. You will be organised and have excellent interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team.
